The Aim.
- To extend to the people living at April Cottage support in exercising their rights to live their chosen life style.
The Philosophy.
Fundamental human right’s are frequently denied to user’s of social care services. We strive to bring the status of those using our service in line with the rest of society. We Respect the Service Users Right to:
- Choice.
- Control.
- Dignity
- Individuality.
Staff are encouraged to recognise that they work in the Service Users home, the Service User does not live in their place of work. Therefore staff are encouraged to work within the Service Users routines
Service User’s Bill of Right’s.
- Every Service User is recognised as a particular individual person with Needs & wants that may be peculiar to them.
- Every Service User has the right to have confidentiality & privacy observed.
- Every Service User has the freedom of choice to do things themselves.
- Every Service User has the right to choose their own lifestyle whilst not impairing the right’s of others to do the same.Staff are encouraged not to make judgement’s on that chosen lifestyle.
